WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) (Feb. 10) -- Ed Williams and Brett Blizzard led UNC Wilmington with 13 points each as the Seahawks beat Old Dominion 59-48 Saturday.
The Seahawks' defense held Old Dominion (11-13, 6-5 Colonial Athletic Association) to 22.2 percent shooting in the second half to recover from a 26-22 Monarchs lead at halftime. Old Dominion scored nine of the half's last 11 points.
Old Dominion led 31-30 with 14:02 left before UNC Wilmington (14-9, 7-5) went on a 15-4 run to take the lead. Barron Thelmon's two free throws gave the Seahawks their biggest lead of the game at 53-42.
The Monarchs closed to 53-48 with 2:55 left, but Thelmon sealed the win with two more free throws.
