Funk Wins MAISA Singlehanded/ Weekend Sailing Wrap-Up

Queens, NY-Old Dominion sailor Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, FL) won the MAISA men's singlehanded championship today, qualifying for a spot in the ICSA men's singlehanded national championship to be held this November at Old Dominion.

In Annapolis, the ODU women's sailing squad posted a win at the Navy Fall Women's Intersectional. The A division team of Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI), Cara Gibbons-Neff (Annapolis, MD) and Rachel Wright (Rochester, NY) took third place. The team of Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH) and Lis Biondi (Norwalk, CT) finished second in B division, and Corrie Clement (Metarie, LA) was second in C division.

At the Hap Moore regatta in New London, CT, the Monarchs finished fourth behind Georgetown, Dartmouth and Tufts. Sailing for the Monarchs were the teams of Matt Allen (Beverly, MA)/Anna Cobb (Mechanicsville, VA), Ryan Thorvaldsen (Sayville, NY)/Megan Bartley (Oak Park, IL), and Jack Kerr (Seattle, WA)/Liz Bower (Fairport, NY).
