Norfolk, VA-The Old Dominion and James Madison men's soccer teams played to a 0-0 double-overtime tie this evening. ODU is now 7-5-2 overall, 2-0-2 CAA. JMU (#25 NSCAA) is 9-4-1, 2-1-1 CAA.
Played in frigid temperature and swirling winds, neither team could get on the board during regulation or overtime. Old Dominion had three straight corner kicks in the final minutes of the second overtime period, but couldn't get a shot past JMU keeper Josh Kovelenko, who finished the night with eight saves.
The Monarchs finished the game with a 11-8 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. ODU goalie Chad Calderone (Rockville Centre, NY) finished with five saves.
Old Dominion will host Penn State in their final home game on November 3 before closing out the season at UNC-Wilmington on the 10th.
