VA-The Old Dominion University men's soccer squad used a versatile offense to defeat visiting East Carolina tonight, 4-0.
Sophomore Michael Tooley (Richmond, VA) put the Monarchs on the board first at the 30 minute mark. Freshman Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) contributed the assist, and put home a goal of his own eleven minutes later. Sophomore Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) rounded out the scoring for Old Dominion, connecting on a penalty kick before the half and notching his second goal during the opening minutes of the second stanza.
Old Dominion outshot the Pirates 15-4, and held a 7-2 advantage in corners.
The Monarchs will finish the preseason at Duke this Sunday before opening the regular season at UNC-Greensboro on September 1.
