Monarchs Lose To W&M, 12-3

NORFOLK, VA.-- Brendan Harris knocked in five runs to lead theTribe of William and Mary to a 12-3 CAA victory over Old Dominion Saturdaynight. The win gives the Tribe (32-17/12-9) the second seed in next week'sCAA Tournament, while the Monarchs (19-35/6-15) will be the fifth seed.

Harris got the Tribe on the board in the fourth with a two-run homer,scoring Mitch Walk. It was his 16th homer of the season, tying a single seasonWilliam and Mary record. In the fifth inning, he singled in Walk and in theseventh, he doubled home Matt Kirby and Stephen Booker.

In the bottom of the fourth, John Oehler (Audubon, NJ.) singled home JaredMusolf (Lakehurst, NJ.) to put the Monarchs on the board. In the sixth freshmanAllen Strick (Glen Burnie, MD.) singled home Travis Silver (Weaverville, NC.).Old Dominion's final run came in the eighth as Ross Robertson (Chesapeake, Va.)singled home Silver.

Ben Shepard picked up his eighth win of the season for William & Mary.Two other Tribe players, Trey Wakefield and Marshall Hubbard joined Harris with three hits. Wakefield extended his hitting streak to 25 games. Allen Strick, JohnOehler and Ross Robertson each had two hits for the Monarchs. Old Dominion will meet James Madison on Tuesday at 3:00 in thefirst round of the CAA Tournament. The Tournament will again be played atCoy Tillet Field in Manteo, NC. W&M will get a bye on Tuesday and play thewinner of the UNCW-George Mason game on Wednesday.
