Monarchs 18 Hit Attack Leads Win Over Richmond, 15-5

RICHMOND, VA -- Every Monarch batter got atleast one hitas Old Dominion University pounded out 18 hits to defeatRichmond, 15-5 Saturday afternoon. ODU is now 7-14 overalland 1-1 in the CAA. The Spiders are now 9-10 overall and1-1 in the CAA.

David Vilardi (Fishkill, NY.) and John Oehler (Audobon,NJ.) each had three hits on the day. Vilardi scoredthree times on the day. Freshman Matt Moye(Beaver Falls, Pa.) led with three rbi's thanks to thehome run he hit in the eight-run eighth,scoring RossRobertson(Chesapeake, Va.) and Jeff Eure(Pillow, Pa.).

Junior lefthander Jonathon Tinkham (Chesapeake, Va.)picked up the win in relief. He fanned seven in the fourplus innings of work. He also picked up a save earlierthis week against Duke.

Richmond was led by David Reaver with three hits, whileVito Chiaravalotti and A.J. Board each knocked intwo runs for the Spiders.

The final game of the three-game CAA series is Sundayat 1:00 at Pitt Field in Richmond, Va.
