NORFOLK, VA -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team cruised past visiting CAA foe George Mason this afternoon, 65-36. With the win, Old Dominion improves to 17-8,13-1 CAA. The Patriots fall to 19-7, 10-5 CAA.
After a physical first-half that was plagued by miscues by both teams, the Lady Monarchs put the clamps on the Patriots, limiting them to just one shot in the first five minutes of the second half. George Mason struggled to find the net all game long, shooting .194 from the field and .083 from three point range.Tish Wescott led the Patriots with a 11 point, 15 rebound performance. Guard Jen Surlas finished with seven points and five rebounds, and reserve Vanessa Neamo tallied eight points and six boards.Old Dominion was led by Okeisha Howard's 14 points. Freshman Myriah Spence finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Old Dominion will hit the road for their next game, Wednesday at VCU.
