NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion University sailing team, in their first competition of the spring, currently have two crews in first and second place at the Old Dominion Triad Invite.
Competing against teams from St. Mary's and Georgetown, the team of Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, FL) and Emily Ruiter (Freehold, NJ) are in first place, followed by Adam Burns (Youngstown, NY) and Lis Biondi (Norwalk, CT) in second. Each school has six teams competing in the event for a total of 18 boats.
In Charleston, SC, the Old Dominion women are currently in first place after eight races in the Charleston Women's Intersectional. The A division boat of Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI) and Allison Calderbank (Clearwater, FL) are in first place, as are their B division teammates Corrie Clement (Metarie, LA) and Megan Bartley (Oak Park, IL).
