NORFOLK, VA (March 18) -- No. 20 Old Dominion University topped Rutgers, 9-8, at Foreman Field.
With the win, the Lady Monarchs improve to 2-2 overall (1-0 CAA). The Scarlet Knights have yet to win a game, standing at 0-3.
Freshman Danielle Hensil (Havertown, Pa.) paced the Old Dominion scoring attack with three goals and an assist on the afternoon. Sophomore Jen Heister (Fayetteville, NY) added two goals.
Rutgers jumped out to a quick 2-0 goal before Old Dominion took a commanding 6-3 lead at intermission. Rutgers edged back, but the Lady Monarchs held on for the win.
Old Dominion will host Temple Sunday at 12 noon.
