Norfolk, Va. (Feb. 11) -- Lucienne Berthieu (Rennes, France) scored 20 points to lead OldDominion as the Lady Monarchs defeated UNC Wilmington 85-55 at theOld Dominion Fieldhouse on February 11. The Lady Monarchs (17-4, 10-0 CAA) continued theirColonial Athletic Association conference winning streak with their 93rd win.
Berthieu had her 10th double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and pullingdown a game high 10 rebounds. Old Dominion continued its full court press intothe second half forcing the Seahawks (13-8, 6-4 CAA) to commit 33 turnovers.
Freshman guard Okeisha Howard (Virginia Beach, Va.) came off the bench to score17 points and back court mate Natalie Diaz (Needles, Calif.) scored 14. TheLady Monarchs led going into the second half 48-25 and the Seahawks neverrecovered. Chandra Watkins led UNC Wilmington with 14 points and Katy Waltershad 12.
The Old Dominion Lady Monarchs will be back in action Sunday as the hostAmerican with a 2 pm tipoff.
