NORFOLK, Va. (Nov. 1) -- Old Dominion junior forward Jen Henley (Chalfont, PA) was named CAA Co-Player of the Year along with William & Mary's Jordan Krieger. The junior from Chalfont, PA, was the top scorer in the CAA this season, racking up 15 goals and 11 assists to lead the league in scoring with 41 points. In addition to being player of the year, Henley was also selected as a first-team forward, making this the second time in three years that she has received that honor.
Joining Henley on the first-team is junior defender Andi Rowe (Fairfax, VA). A second-team selection in 1999, Rowe helped the Lady Monarch defense register six shutouts en route to their most successful season ever.
The third Lady Monarch to be recognized by the CAA is junior forward Melanie McGovern (Somerdale, NJ), who earned a spot on the second team. McGovern led the league in goals scored (16) and was second in total points (34). A late season injury prevented McGovern from adding on to those totals, and she will be unable to play in the CAA tournament.
