Both games will be poster nights as the teams will remain after the contest to sign the free posters given out prior to the game.
Jeff Capel's squad returns eight lettermen and four starters from last year's squad. Heading the list of returnees are All-CAA forward, Andre McCullum (Whiteville, NC.), Michael Williams (Thomasville, Ga.), Ricardo Marsh (Mebane, NC.), an All- CAA Rookie selection, and Pierre Greene (Chicago, IL.). This year's 15-man squad will have seven newcomers, including 6-9 redshirts Charles Dunnington (Washington, DC.) And Joe Principe (Gladstone, Mo.), who both will be eligible this year.
The Monarchs return to action on Nov. 4 with an exhibition game against Global Sports at 7:35 p.m.
Head Coach Wendy Larry returns eight letterwinners from a squad that went 29-5 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen last season. In addition, six newcomers will look to add depth for the Lady Monarchs.
Two-Time CAA Player of the Year Lucienne Berthieu (Rennes, France) will lead the squad behind 17.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Berthieu was also a Kodak District All-American, an All-CAA selection, and the Virginia Player of the Year. Hamchetou Maiga (Bamako, Mali), an All-CAA and CAA All-Defensive selection returns as the team's second leading scorer. CAA Rookie of the Year Alli Spence (Lafayette, Co.) will guide the Lady Monarchs from the point guard position.
The Lady Monarchs will take on MI Express on Nov. 3 at 7:35 p.m. in the fieldhouse.
