Norfolk, VA (Oct. 7) - The Old Dominion University men's soccer squad picked up their third straight CAA win Oct. 7, 3-0 over Richmond. Old Dominion moves to 5-4-1 overall, 3-0 CAA. Richmond drops to 6-5, 0-3 CAA.
The Monarchs got on the board first when Chad Denton (Va. Beach, VA) took a pass from fellow freshman Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) and beat Spider goalie Shawn Alexander for the score. Old Dominion's next goal came courtesy of Richmond, who misplayed the ball into their own net for a goal. With the Monarchs up 2-0, freshman Ryan Sniegoski (Boxborough, MA) fed the ball to Vendegh, who
hammered it home for the final score at 83:29. Richmond outshot the Monarchs 9-6, and held a 6-4 advantage in corners. Monarch goalkeeper Sam Cameron (Raleigh, NC) made seven saves in the win, his second straight shutout.
Old Dominion will return to action on Wednesday, October 11, when they host William & Mary at 7 p.m.
