NORFOLK (Aug. 28) - The Old Dominion co-ed and women's sailing squads have both been given top ten pre-season rankings by the ICSA and Sailing World.
The co-ed team, ranked fourth, will be led by senior All-American Adam Burns (Youngstown, NY) and junior skipper Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, FL). Returning for the eighth-ranked women will be junior Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI), who earned Honorable Mention All-American honors, and sophomore skipper Jessica Simpson (Ontario, Canada). Together, Burns and Barkow will attempt to lead the team to their 12th national title.
The Sailing team will begin the season on Sept. 2 at King's Point Laser Opener. The first home event is the BYO Women's Radial, scheduled for Sept. 9-10 at ODU.
