The Lady Monarchs (5-10) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first10:28 on goals by seniorJenna Bajus, sophomore Jennifer Heister, and freshman Marlaine Smith.The teams thentraded goals for the rest of the first half, and Old Dominion held a 5-3halftime advantage.
Old Dominion extended their lead to three twice in the second half ongoals by junior DanaWisniewski and freshman Danielle Hensil before the 19th ranked Tribe(5-7) began theircomeback. W&M outscored ODU 6-2 over the final 15:48 to squeak out thevictory. Hannafordscored three of her goals during this stretch, and junior Lindsey Lowmandished out three assistsduring the rally. Sophomore Colette Chaput scored the eventualgame-winner with 1:38 to playto give the Tribe a 10-8 lead. Smith scored her second goal of the gamefor ODU with foursecond to play to provide the final margin.
William & Mary advances to face No. 1 seed James Madison Saturday at2:00 p.m. at Universityof Richmond Stadium.
