Berthieu led the CAA in scoring,rebounding and field goal percentage on her way to being named a Kodak District3 All-American and CAA Player of the Year, while Ryan guided the Cavaliers to a24-9 record, ACC regular-season title and a Sweet 16 berth.
Joining Berthieu on the first team are Lady Monarch teammates Hamchetou Maiga(Bamako, Mali) and Natalie Diaz (Needles, CA), along with George Mason guard JenSurlas (Mt. Pleasant, PA) and Virginia Tech forward Tere Williams (Chapel Hill,NC). Maiga, Diaz and Surlas were All-CAA first team performers, while Williamswas an All-Atlantic 10 first teamer and a finalist for A-10 Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, the Va.SID All-State second team consists of two players from theUniversity of Virginia, two from Liberty and one from Virginia Commonwealth.Cavalier teammates Schuye LaRue (Washington, DC) and Svetlana Volnaya (Minsk,Belarus) are joined by Liberty teammates Sharon Wilkerson (Princeton, WV) andElena Kisseleva (Moscow, Russia), along with VCU guard Rochelle Luckett (CapitolHeights, MD).
