PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Feb. 1)(AP) -- Tammy Sutton-Brown and Shawnetta Stewart each scored 15 points as No. 10 Rutgers beat No. 16 Old Dominion 58-50 on February 1st.
A 22-9 run spanning the end of the first half and the start of the second helped Rutgers (14-4) build a 38-28 lead, then another 12-5 run gave the Scarlet Knights a 13-point lead at 50-37 with 7:44 to play.
Old Dominion (14-4) made it interesting down the stretch, getting within three with 1:13 to play at 53-50, but Rutgers closed out the game making five of six foul shots for the final margin.
The victory was the third straight for Rutgers. Old Dominion had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
Natalie Diaz scored 14 points and Lucienne Berthieu added 13 points and eight rebounds for Old Dominion. Sutton-Brown had eight rebounds for Rutgers.
