NORFOLK, Va. (AP) (Nov. 19) - Lucienne Berthieu had 22 points and nine rebounds Friday night as No. 16 Old Dominion pulled away from Hampton in the second half for the 91-64 victory in the season-opener for both teams.
Freshman Kim Giddens had nine blocked shots for Old Dominion, which set a Colonial Athletic Association women's record with 16 blocks overall.
Hamchetou Maiga and Okeisha Howard added 14 points each Sharron Francis had 10 for the Lady Monarchs.
Lashondra Dixon led the Lady Pirates with 16 points.
Old Dominion led 68-57 with six minutes left before the Lady Monarchs went on a 21-5 run to put the game away.
