INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Indiana's WNBA expansion team announcedthat Lady Monarch great Anne Donovan ('83)will be the interim head coachwhen the team begins play in the summer of 2000 in the new ConsecoFieldhouse.
Donovan, a three-time Olympian, member of the NaismithBasketball Hall of Fame, the Women's Basketball Hall ofFame and the CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-American Hall of Famewill coach the team while head coach Nell Fortner fulfillsher obligation with the U.S. Women's National Team through the 2000Olympics. Donovan will then become Fortner'stop assistant.
Donovan completed her career as the Lady Monarchs all-timescorer with 2,719 points, 1,976 rebounds and 801 blocked shots. The blockedshot mark is still and NCAA record.
