Kelli James is a two-time All-American field hockey player, where she led the Monarchs to three NCAA National Championships in 1988, 1990, and 1992. 

James went on to become a striker for the United States Women's National Team where she recorded 144 caps, and was able to win a bronze medal in the 1995 Pan American Games.
