Keith Thomas is ODU's second all-time free throw percentage leader at .834 (402-282). He won the Sun Belt Conference free throw title in 1983 at .855 and 1984 at .859. In 1986, Thomas was named to the Sun Belt's second team All-Conference squad.

Known for his tenacious defense, Thomas completed his career at ODU as the school's fifth all-time leader in steals with 160. He also scored 1,530 career points where he currently ranks 14th. As a senior, the Monarchs were the Sun Belt's regular season champions and one of four league teams to earn berths in the NCAA tournament.

As a number eight seed, ODU defeated West Virginia before losing to eventual National runner-up Duke in the second round. Thomas was named CBS Player of the Game in the Duke contest. Keith graduated with a degree In business and distributive education and currently lives in his native Richmond, Va. where he works for the Virginia Corrections Department.
