Jan Trombly was an outstanding member of the Lady Monarchs basketball team. While apart of Old Dominion Basketball, she helped lead the team to a 1979 AIAW Title. Trombly graduated from Old Dominion in 1981 earning her degree in health and physical education. She then obtained her master's degree in 1987 in sport's management. 

She later went on to do color commentary back at Old Dominion for ESPN radio. Trombly also became a certified fitness instructor and owned her own fitness studio.
