Carolyn Sarr was a member of the Field Hockey and the Lacrosse teams at Old Dominion. Sarr helped leady the Lady Monarchs to two straight NCAA National Championship appearances in 1988 and 1989. She earned First Team All-American honors in 1989. That same year she was also an All-South selection at the midfield position.

She is also still in ODU field hockey records book for all-time career assists with 66. In the 1989 season she was second in assists with 45 and 1988 with 21.

She also led the lacrosse team in scoring with 14 goals in 1989 and 20 goals in 1990. Sarr also earned All-South Atlantic honors in 1990.

She graduated from Old Dominion in 1990 with a degree in elementary education.
