MADISON, Miss. – Old Dominion men's golf turned in a final round of 12-over par 300 on Wednesday to wrap up stroke play at the Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship at Annandale Golf Club.

The Monarchs finished tied for 12th place in the team standings alongside App State with a 54-hole total of 904 (+40). Arkansas State captured the top seed for match play with a five-under 859, ULM earned the second seed with a six-over 870, and Marshall and Texas State recorded a pair of 13-over 877s to tie for third place and secure the third and fourth seeds, respectively. The Red Wolves will square off with the Bobcats and the Warhawks will face the Thundering Herd in the Sun Belt Championship Semifinal Round, which will start at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday.

A-State's Thomas Schmidt and USA's Hugo Thyr went to a sudden-death playoff after finishing tied for first at four-under 212. Both golfers made par on the ninth hole before Thyr birdied the 18th to win the playoff.

"We were very disappointed in our play this week," said ODU Head Coach Murray Rudisill. "The guys worked really hard and been playing much better in the last three tournaments before the conference championship. Jakob Chicoyne and Jakob Henriksson were the only two players who played up to their standards in the championship. We had too many high scores that we had to count each day."

For ODU, Chicoyne birdied the par-five 11th hole and par-five 18th hole. The senior also eagled the par-five fifth hole, but made bogey on four holes to end up with a final round of even 72. He tied for 12th with a two-over 218. Henriksson went two over with a 74 on Wednesday to tie for 42nd at 226 (+10). Philip Minnehan shot his second-straight round of 77 to tie for 52nd with a total of 230 (+14) and Jacob Gunther tied for 56th at 232 (+16) after also hitting a 77 for his final trip around the course. ODU substituted Kazuki Yamauchi into the lineup for the third round, and the senior from Osaka, Japan carded a round of six-over 78 to place 68th.

Henriksson also tied for second in par-3 scoring with 3.00 average and Chicoyne tied for second in par-5 scoring with a 4.50 average. Chicoyne led the Monarchs with 10 birdies over the three days while Chicoyne and Minnehan made one eagle each.

"We have a very wonderful group of young men who represent the University with pride and dignity and it has been a pleasure for Coach Barry Marple and myself to work with them this year," added Rudisill.
