Trice Named Collegiate Baseball Second Team Preseason All-American

NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore Carter Trice of the Old Dominion baseball team has been named a Second Team Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball, the publication announced on Tuesday.
 
Trice is coming off a freshman season that saw the Mechanicsville, Virginia native named a First Team Freshman All-American by both Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game Baseball. Conference USA's Freshman of the Year, he led the team and ranked third in the conference with a .355 batting average last season. Additionally, Trice was second in C-USA and 23rd in Division I with 83 hits, and his 14 home runs were good for fourth in the conference.
 
Trice played in 58 of ODU's 60 games last season and started every game in which he played. He helped lead the Monarchs to a 44-16 overall record, their first conference championship in 20 years and the first No. 1 seed in a regional in program history.
