NORFOLK, Va. - Delphine Le Jeune and Marlon de Bruijne of the Old Dominion field hockey team were named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, while teammates Rina Tsioles and Alix Marien garnered second team accolades, the league announced on Wednesday. The balloting was done by the league's head coaches who were not permitted to select their own players.

Le Jeune (Ghent, Belgium) has appeared in all 17 matches this season, while compiling seven goals and six assists for 20 points. Her 20 points rank ninth in the BIG EAST. Eighteen of her 31 shots attempts have been on goal. She scored twice and dished out an assist in ODU's win over Richmond. Le Jeune was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season.

In 12 games that de Bruijne (Den Bosch, Netherlands) has played in, she has 11 goals (third in BIG EAST), four assists, 26 points (fourth in BIG EAST) and four game-winners (second in BIG EAST). She leads the Monarchs in goals, points and game-winners this season, as well as shots (61) and shots on goal (37). In ODU's win over Quinnipiac, de Bruijne scored three goals. She was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season.

Tsioles (Kingston, Pennsylvania) has appeared in all 17 matches this season, as she scored ODU's lone goal at Duke. She has helped lead ODU's defense to nine matches of allowing one goal or less this season, while pitching four shutouts.

Marien (Kapellen, Belgium) ranks third on the squad for goals (four), assists (four), points (12), as well as game-winners (two). When Old Dominion hosted Virginia, Marien scored both goals for the Monarchs, helping lift ODU over UVA by a 2-1 score. She was later named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her efforts.

Liberty forward Daniella Rhodes was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, while Georgetown goalkeeper Ciara Weets has been selected BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. UConn forward Sophia Ugo was tabbed the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. The Liberty coaching staff, led by head coach Nikki Parsley-Blocker, was named BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.

The announcement comes prior to the BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP, which will be held Nov. 5 and 7 at the Sherman Family Sports Complex on the campus of Connecticut in Storrs. The host Huskies have captured the last nine championship titles.

ODU received the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championship semifinals and will take on No. 2 seed UConn on Friday, Nov. 5 at 4:00 p.m. ET. The Monarchs (13-4, 5-2 BIG EAST) enter the tournament winners of nine of their last 11 matches. The BIG EAST Championship title match will take place on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1:00 p.m.
