NORFOLK, Va. – Alan Dawson's Old Dominion men's soccer team was picked to finish eighth according to the Conference USA Preseason Poll, which is voted on by the coaches in the league. Defender, Josh Thacker, was named to the All C-USA Preseason Team as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
The 2021 spring season concluded with a 1-4-3 record for the Monarchs and 0-4-3 in conference play. Thacker was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year, as well as named to the All C-USA Second Team and All-Freshman Team. Thacker was also named the College Soccer News All-Freshman Second Team honoree. On top of his defensive recognitions, he was second on the team for goals, ranked third on the squad for points (2), as well as shots on goal (3).
Conference USA's 2021 season kicks off Thursday, August 26.
