NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University lacrosse head coach Heather Holt has named Brooke Frey and Madison Corcoran team captains for the 2021 season, Holt announced on Wednesday.

"I am very excited for and proud of our two 2021 captains, Brooke Frey and Madison Corcoran.  They have very different leadership styles that will work together throughout the uncharted territory of the 2021 season. Their ability to be flexible and strong will enable them to navigate any and all changes that may come our way this year," Holt said. "I know these leaders, along with all of our upper classmen, will lead this team by example.  They are all strong in the classroom and on the field, and work hard to ultimately make our program more successful than ever."

A native of Rochester, New York, Corcoran started all nine games on defense during the shortened 2020 season for the Monarchs and led the team with 11 caused turnovers.

"Madison is a great leader with a very strong voice on the field.  She is an unselfish player and will lead this team with her confidence and determination on and off the field," Holt said.

Frey, a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, appeared in seven games last season, recording one shot and registered one draw control.

"Brooke has always been a leader on the team and in the surrounding community.  She is strong and committed teammate that always puts team first," Holt said.
