IRVING, Texas – Denzell Taylor of the Old Dominion men’s basketball team was named to the 2016-17 Conference USA All-Defensive Team on Tuesday afternoon.
Taylor ranks sixth in the conference in rebounding with 224 (leads team) on the year for a 7.5 average (leads team) per game. The Brampton, Ontario-native has hauled down a team-leading 118 defensive rebounds. Taylor has been instrumental in Old Dominion ranking No. 1 in the conference for scoring defense, as the Monarchs allow just 61.1 points per game.
“Denzell’s impact on the program has been significant,” said ODU head coach Jeff Jones. “Even though you can’t look at statistics and say he did this, this and this. Having a guy like that makes everyone else better.”
