NORFOLK, Va. – Passionate, dynamic, inspiring and coach of the Old Dominion women’s basketball team, Karen Barefoot is a master motivator, not only of teams, but of individuals and organizations, encouraging them to succeed beyond even their own expectations. Barefoot can be seen speaking at a magnitude of events and every week ODUSports will highlight where she will bring her valuable insight and advice.
This week, she will be the feature speaker for Home Depot and at the prestigious DMV Girls Basketball Community Coaches Clinic in Washington, D.C.
Barefoot’s first speaking engagement this week is for Home Depot, where she will speak to 130 people at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library in Virginia Beach at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. She will touch on how to build and maintain a successful path as a female leader, using examples from her own life story.
She isn’t done there, as she will be one of the feature speakers at the DMV Girls Basketball Community Coaches Clinic at Joe Cole School in Washington, D.C. this weekend. Barefoot will take the stage at 1:00 p.m. and will share her basketball knowledge to everyone in attendance in a creative, interactive and dynamic way.
