2017-2018: Vincent Schneider was named the ITA Most Improved Senior for the Atlantic Region. In his one semester in Norfolk, Schneider was named the C-USA Newcomer of the Year, Outstanding Singles Player of the C-USA Championship, All-Conference USA Singles Second Team and Outstanding Doubles Team of the C-USA Championship.
Schneider only played for the Monarchs in the spring and compiled an 18-4 record, mostly playing at position No. 3. He went 5-0 versus Conference USA opponents in singles and 4-1 against them in doubles. He was the Conference USA Athlete of the Week once this season and finished the year on a 13-match winning streak with his last loss dating back to Feb. 25. Schneider won all his three singles matches at the Conference USA Tournament in straight sets, only losing 16 games in those three matches
Prep: Began his college playing career at Baylor University… He reached the 2012 Doubles Finals in the German Championships… Winner of both singles and doubles competition in the 2012 International Tennis Federation Tournament… Was named to the German Junior Davis Cup Team… Two Big 12 regular season champions and one-time Big 12 Tournament champions… Went as far as NCAA Elite 8 and Final 4 while at Baylor… Three-time Commissioners Honor Roll and Two-time Academic All Big 12.
Personal: Peter and Margit Schneider are the proud parents of Vincent… Has an older brother named Matthias and an older sister named Valentina. Vincent graduated from Kurpfalz Gymnasium in 2013... Was coached under now ODU Head Coach Dom Mueller at Baylor… He plans to earn his MBA by 2019. Other than tennis, Vincent enjoys participating in golf and hockey… His plan after graduation is to become a professional tennis player.
