NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s tennis travels south this weekend to challenge Sun Belt opponents Troy and Georgia State.

The Monarchs face the Trojans on Saturday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the Jimmy Lunsford Tennis Complex, while ODU competes against GSU on Sunday, March 16 at 10 a.m. in the Sharon Lester Tennis Center. Fans can stream the match against Georgia State through Statbroadcast.

Troy opened up SBC play with a 4-2 loss to No. 41 South Alabama, though the Trojans were able to rebound against Southern Miss the following day with a 4-1 win. Georgia State also split its Sun Belt opening weekend to the same teams, downing Southern Miss 5-1 and falling to South Alabama 4-1.

ODU is on a five game win streak after defeating two P4 opponents and No. 54 Princeton and earning wins last weekend against App State and Marshall. The Monarchs are currently 2-0 in conference play following a 5-2 win against App State and a 4-2 win against Marshall last weekend.

Old Dominion is ranked 39th as a team in the ITA, with Sofia Johnson ranked 10th with a 7-1 singles record after securing ODU’s win against Marshall by a 6-3, 7-5 win against Johanna Strom.  She was also named SBC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
