WACO, Texas – Old Dominion senior Women’s Tennis player Sofia Johnson fell in the second round of the NCAA Singles Tournament on Wednesday, 6-4, 6-2, to DJ Bennett of Auburn.
“A tough result for Sofia today,” ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla said. “She has had a great fall and continues to represent our program at the highest level. I’m looking forward to her helping us in the spring team season and competing for a Sun Belt title.”
Johnson got down 4-1 in the first set to Bennett before battling back to tie the set at four all. Bennett won the final two games for a 6-4 first set win. The second set was tied at two before Bennett won the final four games for a 6-2 second set win.
