NORFOLK, Va. – Dominic Manilla, the Old Dominion women’s tennis head coach, was named the 2019 Conference USA Coach of the Year, as voted on by league coaches and announced by C-USA officials on Friday afternoon.

Manilla has led the Monarchs to a 19-4 season so far, while compiling a perfect 11-0 mark at home and a 3-0 record against conference opponents during the regular season.

Earlier this year, Manilla led ODU into Knoxville, where the Monarchs took down No. 24 nationally ranked Tennessee. Manilla later led Old Dominion to a victory over No. 50 Baylor in Waco.

At one point this season, Manilla’s Monarchs were nationally ranked No. 19, the highest mark in program history.

Also announced on Friday, Manilla had seven of eight rostered student-athletes receive Conference USA postseason accolades.

Last season, Manilla was named the ITA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, as well as the VaSID State Coach of the Year.
